Simon Says: Lets Go to the Movies

Welcoming 2026 includes looking ahead to the upcoming calendar and some redesigned milestones in our J.Hilburn schedule.

We challenged ourselves to really look hard at what and when the Client needs to update his wardrobe, what exactly those needs are, and ensure a seamless, effortless service to him throughout the year. We took input and advice from stylists, analyzed the most productive moments of our business (and the least), allowing us to think in a refreshed way, embracing our ongoing “Restyled” approach, which we initiated in the middle of last year.

The Spring and Summer seasons are now the sum of three capsules – Pre Spring (Jan 6th), Spring (March 4th), and Summer (TBD) - each with a different launch date. We have already kicked off the year, anticipating a large part of the seasonal collection with the Pre-Spring launch last week. This collection will be built upon when the Spring and Summer updates arrive, with the hope of consistently addressing our Clients’ needs throughout the upcoming months.

I have created a seasonal feel in color and style that should connect the sum of all the parts across all the categories, making it easy to coordinate outfits throughout the seasonal changes in the temps, as well as the ongoing effort to add to his current J.Hilburn wardrobe.

Let’s go to the Movies!

Vintage Hollywood has long been a permanent font of inspiration for menswear, and I can say that I have borrowed from the silver screen on a regular basis. I am quite excited by what is happening in menswear currently and embracing the change in silhouettes that the more discerning and fashion-forward Clients are gravitating towards. You have probably seen it for yourself, both on social feeds and on the red carpet, in the evolving softness happening across menswear. This season, I am feeling the influence more than ever as classic style blends with graphic Art Deco patterns and the glamorous lifestyle of golden-era movie stars.

The return of the softer leg and higher-waist pant continues to expand, reminding me of Cary Grant and Fred Astaire style, with double-breasted sportscoats and open-neck shirts. I am also feeling that color itself is influenced by the Pacific sunshine, Bel Air swimming pools, and Beverly Hills gardens. Warm ivory, bright white, sandy naturals, and Navy are part of the seasonal base palette with orchid pinks, coral pinks, ocean blues, olives, citrus tones, and terracotta, are part of the new seasonal palette used in creating solids and patterns across our categories.

We, of course, have newness across every category and new fabrics from our wonderful mills, all referencing best-selling qualities and reflecting updated needs and wants for our Clients. As the season unfolds, you will see new products launch with a focus on knits with new color-blocking with new crest embroideries, crochet-style textured knits, capturing glamorous Hollywood style with hints of Art Deco graphics. For summer, watch out for some new playful shirt styling, including what I call 50/50 limited fabric combos, where the whole front panels are available in contrast for a more overt summery look, and the perfect addition to casual style. You may have already seen the embroidered front options we added in pre-spring in shirting as part of our ongoing effort to excite Clients with something completely new for his wardrobe.

Our formal presence is strong as ever, helped by that golden-era influence, and we will focus on helping Clients plan for weddings and special occasions for the upcoming season, with specific landing pages, lookbooks, and an available printed leave-behind to help you effortlessly work on wedding parties of every type and budget. We will try to cover every type of wedding with the grey line between what is and isn’t wedding appropriate becoming ever more blurred, from formal to casual, part of the requests. Suiting for grooms, fathers, wedding parties, and invitees, ceremonies, and wedding weekends, we want you to feel confident in addressing this ever-growing need in the market and a great way to bring new Clients along the J.Hilburn journey. This focus from us should help you easily engage with outreach and our year-round support in fabrics to have qualities always available, such as linen and linen blends, so no matter the season, confidently offering suiting for any special occasion.
