Tell us about your professional life before J.Hilburn?
I have been a Hair Stylist for 23 years and run the salon every Tuesday through Friday. Being in a salon, I mostly work with women, but I still work with men regularly due to having a female barber in my shop. Due to the network I have built, I felt confident that J.Hilburn would be a great fit for my Clients and would appreciate this service.
Why did you decide to become a J.Hilburn Stylist?
I wanted something different, and I found it fun buying for my husband from Diane Reed. I love that you can do J.Hilburn on your own time and it was easy. I had been wanting to work from home and I saw it as an opportunity to no longer have to be on my feet – J.Hilburn would help me get to that goal a lot sooner. Plus, I really like Diane – she’s a real go-getter and I knew I would be able to learn a lot from her. We talked about how to set myself up for success and various ways for me to help my Clients.
What has been the key(s) to your success?
I have been eager to become faster and better. I knocked out my prework and Fundamentals 1.0 quickly because I knew I had to sell 5 shirts first, but that felt small to me. So, I set up a launch party to get those first shirts sold and maybe more. I did my ABCs to get my Client list set up and worked with my A-List, (which was my husband’s friends who are doctors, lawyers, and other professionals), who I knew would appreciate the quality and service. I love parties and hosting, from baby showers to birthdays. It’s fun for me, so it was the right way for me to launch.
The theme for my launch party was Tacos, Tequila, and Tailoring! My husband made the margaritas, and I would simply call the men up one by one, and some were getting shirts, and others were getting pants and sportscoats! I was thankful to Diane Reed and Amy Mancini for coming to the party to help me with everything! My launch party had over 25 guys show up, and I still have more on my A-List that I can connect with. I can’t wait to connect with the rest of my list!
What’s next for you?
I’m going to look to make more connections in an office, and not just work with one guy, but to target the whole office. I want to be able to work with as many people as possible in one setting since I have to focus my time on J.Hilburn. I am also super excited about the Conference in July. I have already bought my ticket, and I’ll be there from Wednesday to Friday! I’m looking forward to the energy everyone will put out there, and I can’t wait to learn from my fellow Stylists and see what they are doing successfully. I can’t wait to see everyone in person!
(We can't wait to see Tasha at Conference! And get to see all the connections she makes! -J.Hilburn team)
