Tell us about your professional life before J.Hilburn?
Actually, I don’t quite have one yet. I am student. A Freshman at the University of San Francisco studying business with a focus in Entrepreneurship. I am excited to get my work experience started with J.Hilburn.
Why did you decide to become a J.Hilburn Stylist?
Dressing well has always been important for me. And in the last few years I really have gotten into fashion. I was inspired by characters like James Bond with their allure and the confidence they had in films. I wanted to emulate that so I started reading and researching about it. One book I read was A Gentleman Gets Dressed Up by John Bridges and Bryan Curtis. My dad even noticed how much I had really started getting into it, and he was the one to recommend J.Hilburn to me. We had been neighbors with Diane Reed 5 years ago for about 3 years, and he suggested I speak with her! The timing was perfect because I was home visiting from San Francisco. So I called Diane right away, and after the call, I drove over to Diane’s house, signed up, and started training the next day!
What has been the key(s) to your success?
Diane is amazing. Starting training immediately allowed me to start selling quickly in my first month. Diane helped me set goals so I can focus on what’s next. We worked on my list and how to introduce myself and my new business. She also pushed me to launch my business on Social Media. I did my first post yesterday (April 23rd) and got a new Client already! That’s given me a boost of confidence! Also, J.Hilburn provides great videos which I’m going to use! I have a friend who is a videographer that I am excited to collaborate with to help me launch my business on all my social channels.
Another goal we set was to sell a shirt. Diane reviewed how to do this and measure because my little brother needed a suit for graduation and prom. I remember how excited I was when I got my first real suit, so it was a special moment to be a part of that experience with my brother. He was my first order! We will never forget that.
What’s next for you?
The goal is to get to $10,000 a month. That’s more monetary focused but I really want to have cool relationships with Clients and help them feel confident. I love learning what they need and creating a game plan to create the cleanest looks and ultimately create a lifestyle for my Clients and myself. J.Hilburn feels like a great match for what I want to accomplish and a vehicle to meet interesting people. I can see how this business is going to create a fun lifestyle for me and amazing relationships with my Clients.
